IGNŌMALA is an alternative rock band with a visual world as intense as their sound. For the release of their debut album Flowers of a Rotten Blossom, AVAV Studio developed the complete visual identity of the project — from the album cover to social media content and music video production. The concept at the heart of the artwork is both simple and poetic: one flower for each track on the album. But these are not flowers in bloom — each one appears in an adverse situation, directly linked to the emotional and lyrical world of its corresponding song. Beauty under pressure. Life persisting through decay. The title says it all: a rotten blossom that flowers anyway. The album cover was built through 3D rendering, giving the flowers a tactile, almost sculptural presence — organic forms rendered with clinical precision, creating a tension that mirrors the music itself. That same visual language was extended across motion graphics, photography, and video, ensuring every touchpoint of the release felt like part of the same world. The result is a full visual universe built around a single idea — that something extraordinary can grow even in the most hostile conditions. A fitting image for a band that is only just beginning to bloom.
